On 29 December 2016, in the framework of Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), Da Nang Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) organized final and result-sharing workshop of sub-project “Comprehensive Assessment towards Climate Change Resilience of Da Nang Water Resource” (shortly Water Resource Project) sponsored by Rockefeller Foundation through Institute for Social and Environmental Transition (ISET).

 

On November 24th, the workshop “Sustaining urban resilience in Vietnam – Lessons from 7 years of ACCCRN” took place in Hanoi in the framework of Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN). It was held by Institute for Social and Environmental Transition (ISET), national coordinator of ACCCRN. 

 

Under the framework of the “Water resources” project, outreach activities and raising awareness are paid much attention. Thus, Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) together with Hoa Vang People’s Committee organized a workshop to disseminate information of Da Nang’s water resources to residents of Hoa Vang District.

 

The “Pathways to Water Resilience in Da Nang City: A Comprehensive Assessment” project has been funded by Rockefeller Foundation since 2013. To date, the project has come near to its end. To achieve such positive results, there are a lot of efforts in coordinating, managing and conducting research made by a group of researchers, experts and staff members of CCCO.

 

At Hoa Khuong 2 Primary School, Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) in collaboration with Division of Natural resources and Environment of Hoa Vang District organised the Handing over ceremony of the system of safe drinking water for pupils and teachers on December 18.

 

On the morning of November 05 2015, Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) together with Central Vietnam Institute of Water Resources organized a training course covering how to use “Water Evaluation And Planning” (WEAP) system, equipping attendees with basic knowledge and skills for WEAP application in local water management.

 

In Da Nang, Climate Change Coordination Office in collaboration with ISET organised a workshop to disseminate results of research on vulnerability of peri-urban areas in the context of urban development and climate change on October 30 2015. The research has been conducted in three localities of Hoa Xuan, Hoa Tien and Hoa Chau.

 

Following the series of research activities to better know the river basins in Da Nang and Quang Nam, on October 8 2015, Da Nang Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) organized a field trip to Dak Mi 4 Hydropower Plant.

 

Pursuant to the Direction of Steering Committee for response to climate change, on the afternoon of September 23 2015, Da Nang Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) in conjunction with Department of Planning and Investment organized a workshop entitled “Integration of Climate change into Socio – Economic development plans for 5 years (2016-2020) of Da Nang City”.

 

In order to collect more data serving accomplishment of the report for the project "Pathways to Water Resilience in Da Nang City: A Comprehensive Assessment" funded by Rockefeller Foundation via Institute for Social and Environmental Transition (ISET), Da Nang Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) continued to take a field trip to the upstream area of Vu Gia River.
