That is the comment of Mr. Léo's - Expert in energy of Asconit consultants during his business trip in Da Nang in the scope of the project "Supporting implementation of Danang City's climate change response action plan, focusing on climate change mitigation in the urban area (DaCliMB)".

From 13 to 16 May 2014, Asconit Consultants had a business trip to Da Nang city to report the results of Phase 1 (Collection, investigation and evaluation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in 6 districts in Da Nang), and to share the list of priority projects in the field of climate change mitigation in urban areas as well as the opportunity to receive support from the French Agency for Development (AFD) through the Da Nang Development Investment Fund (DDIF).

For a successful business trip, Danang Climate Change Coordination Office held a Consultation workshop for Phase 1 Report and 3rd Technical meeting in order to (1) Collect contribution opinions for the phase 1 report (2) Collect the list of projects in the field of climate change mitigation in the urban area of the relevant departments (3) Share capital investment sources for this sector.

Through the workshop, representatives of departments offered many comments, mainly focusing on the evaluation results of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions for urban areas and household sectors. Also, Asconit Consultants were required to give summarized conclusions for each chapter so that the agencies of the city can know which areas, which sectors are consuming a lot of energy; this would be a sound basis to recommend the city in accordance with the functions and fields under their management. Receiving the valuable comments, Asconit Consultants gave direct explanation for each question, at the same time recognized and edited reports to suit local conditions.

This result has been used in the 3rd Technical meeting to discuss and reorder projects in priority order and to share the opportunity to receive funding from AFD.

Thereby, there are 02 projects gained Asconit Consultants' special attention, specifically: Renovating Hoa Thuan Thanh Apartment into a green, environmental friendly and energy saving apartment; Building social apartments for workers in Lien Chieu District. Besides, construction projects on saving energy consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recommendations on institutions, policies and capacity building were also proposed. Asconit Consultants committed to report this result with AFD and other donors to seek opportunities for cooperation and to help build a greener city of Da Nang.
